Dr. Elizabeth Ermel Shrode is excited to bring mixed animal veterinary practice to Central Florida, where small animals, horses and farm animals may all receive veterinary care within the same practice. Dr. Elizabeth is a proud graduate of Oklahoma State College of Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing in Florida for the last five years.

Dr. Shrode's Bio

Prior to opening her hospital in Tampa, Dr. Ermel Shrode spent five years practicing small animal emergency medicine and surgery along with providing large animal ambulatory services to horses and farm animals. She is passionate about surgery, critical care, and internal medicine, and enjoys educating clients on wellness and preventative medicine. Dr. Ermel Shrode has a particular affinity for geriatric animals of all species and strives to improve quality of life through nutrition, pain management, and rehabilitation, and is currently pursuing her certification in pain management through IVAPM. Believing the human-animal bond is one of the most fulfilling experiences we are blessed to have the Hickory Hill VS mission is to embrace and support that relationship with trusted veterinary care while keeping people and their animals together every step of the way

Dr. Ermel Shrode resides on her farm in Brooksville, FL where she and her family manage a Simmental/Angus cow-calf operation. She also owns Quarter horses, two donkeys named Emmitt and Dusty, a menagerie of large breed dogs, and two rescue cats who patrol the barns.
