Hickory Hill Veterinary is a mixed animal veterinary practice located in Hernando County, FL. Our focus is equine and small animals (dogs and cats), and also offer general wellness and reproduction services for goats. We are primarily mobile for farm calls, and offer a haul-in facility in Brooksville, FL for horses in need of colic medical management, minor surgical procedures and rehabilitation post-surgery for tendon and ligament injuries, laminitis, sole abscesses, neurologic disorders and neuropathies.

DR. ELIZABETH SHRODE
Dr. Elizabeth Ermel Shrode obtained her BA at Vanderbilt University and DVM at Oklahoma State College of Veterinary Medicine. She is excited about offering mixed animal mobile veterinary services to Central Florida! Dr. Shrode is passionate about wellness and preventative medicine in large and small creatures, and values lasting relationships with clients and their animals. In her equine work, Dr. Shrode has a particular love of foals and geriatric horses and has focused her research on endocrine diseases and laminitis in the geriatric horse. In her small animal work, Dr. Shrode is experienced in emergency medicine, critical care and surgery, and preventative medicine, and is proud to offer her knowledge and expertise to pet owners in the mobile setting. She respects the human-animal bond greatly and believes in keeping pets with their owners during exams and treatment.
In her personal life, Dr. Shrode owns Quarter Horses, a donkey named Emmitt, and a menagerie of three rescue dogs. She is extremely excited about her youngest horse who is currently in training to show reining cow horse.
